Mission Statement
The Mission of St. George Elementary School is to provide exemplary teaching to all learners, improve curriculum mastery, and ensure a climate of success, trust, and safety among all stakeholders in order to leave no child behind.
Belief Statement
All learners have needs, wants, desires, and expectations - social, emotional, physical and intellectual.
All children can learn. All children should be shown that they have worth. Listening to children validates their worth. Teacher enthusiasm and a supportive family are essential in learning for students' self esteem and motivation. While learning occurs at all levels, effective learning occurs when the learner accepts responsibility for learning, is motivated from within, and when subject matter is relevant. All children need flexibility in levels of instruction. The learning environment must be comfortable, non-threatening, aesthetically appealing, appropriately structured, and free of sarcasm both for teacher and student. Technology is necessary in the educational process. Learning is a continuous, life-long process. |
